| Queensland is the Sunshine State of Australia, and the country's favourite holiday destination. Brisbane or Bris Vegas is the state capital with a population of 1.8 million. It is home to the Gabba (cricket), Broncos (Rugby League) , the Bears (AFL) and the Bullets (Basket Ball). Two of the most popular holiday destinations in Australia are within an hour drive from Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast just to the north is the coastal area from Noosa via Mooloolaba to Caloundra. The Gold Coast which is an hour to the south by car has several theme parks, entertainment galore and beautiful beches all the way from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta. |
